Everything about campsites écologiques with naturist

Naturism started from a simple idea: living naked in contact with nature, with respect for yourself, others and the environment. These 11 naturist campsites carry that spirit forward with large unspoilt spaces, from the forests of the Landes to the hills of the Vaucluse.

Forests, scrubland and mountains

On the Atlantic coast, CHM Montalivet and Arnaoutchot spread out under the pines, between dunes and ocean. In the Gard, La Sablière and La Genèse cover large wooded grounds above the Cèze. In Bédoin, Domaine de Bélézy lies at the foot of Mont Ventoux, while in the hills behind Nice, Le Haut Chandelalar offers mountain peace and quiet.

Sea, lagoons and countryside

In Corsica, Bagheera and Riva Bella line the east coast, between beach and maquis. In the Aude, Le Clapotis is in La Palme, within the Narbonnaise Regional Nature Park, between lagoon and Mediterranean. Le Colombier in the Vendée and Creuse Nature in Boussac offer quiet countryside.

A nature-based, responsible holiday

For a more sustainable stay, choose a pitch for your tent or caravan, the train to the nearest station and activities without engines: hiking, cycling, swimming, wildlife watching. Many centres also encourage guests to save water, sort their waste and save energy. Nine of the eleven campsites have a pool, and each campsite page details its services and accommodation.

Good to know

A French Naturist Federation licence is often required on arrival and can usually be bought on site. To compare every naturist centre in France, visit our dedicated portal naturiste.camp.

our method

How we select each campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every écologique campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent price

You book directly with the campsite, with no middleman or hidden mark-up. The price shown is the price you pay.

frequently asked questions

FAQ - Naturist campsites in the heart of nature

Is a naturist campsite automatically eco-friendly?
Not automatically. Respect for the environment is part of the definition of naturism, but only labels such as Clef Verte or the EU Ecolabel prove an audited commitment. Check them on the campsite’s website.
What is naturism?
A way of life in harmony with nature, characterised by communal nudity, intended to encourage respect for oneself, for others and for the environment. This is the definition used by the International Naturist Federation.
How can you reduce the impact of your stay?
Travel by train or car-share, choose a pitch rather than an air-conditioned rental, get around by bike on site and use water sparingly, especially in summer in the south.
Do you need a naturist licence?
Often, yes. Many centres ask for a French Naturist Federation licence or an international card, which can usually be bought at reception on the day you arrive.
Can you go with the family?
Yes. Most naturist campsites welcome families, with playgrounds, pools and outdoor activities. Naturism is practised there in a family-friendly, respectful setting.
