Just 8 kilometres from La Rochelle, in Dompierre-sur-Mer, in the Charente-Maritime, Le Verger campsite is a small 2-star natural site with 60 pitches, complemented by gypsy caravan and safari tent rentals. The site favours a quiet, family atmosphere, with no loud entertainment or loudspeakers, as visitors attest. Large modern showers, a playground and light catering (fresh bread and croissants every morning, a different food truck every evening) complete simple, well-kept facilities. A secure cycle path links the campsite to La Rochelle's old harbour in 8 km, and the Île de Ré, Châtelaillon-Plage and the Marais Poitevin are all nearby. Open from 1 June to 29 August.
