In Perros-Guirec, on Brittany’s Pink Granite Coast, Camping Le Village Perrosien has made restraint its identity. This 4-star campsite with 89 pitches holds the Clef Verte (Green Key) label, an international sustainable tourism certification, and is committed to the Maeva Respire programme, which is transforming the site over three years.
The first visible step: no cars drive across the 26,000 m² estate. Vehicles stay in the car park at the entrance and everyone gets around on foot, by bike or by scooter. The result: no engine noise, cleaner air and children playing safely.
Accommodation consists of wooden cabins from 29 to 40 m² and a 55 m² duplex apartment, for 4 to 6 people, each with its own terrace. Green spaces are planted with local species and garden waste is shredded on site.
Le Village Perrosien’s environmental approach rests on concrete measures: water meters and flow reducers in the toilet blocks and accommodation, electricity sub-meters, 20 energy-saving key cards in the accommodation, sorting of waste and bio-waste with on-site composters, eco-labelled cleaning products and low-energy appliances.
The campsite works with small regional producers for apple juice and cider, and with a sheltered workshop for its jams. On site: bar and snack-pizzeria from April, fresh bread and pastries, a small grocery, a launderette and Wi-Fi in communal areas. Bikes can be hired through two partners, including a self-service station 400 m away. Dogs are welcome in the cabins.
Activities follow the same spirit: yoga and Pilates with a qualified teacher, a fitness area, pétanque, table tennis, a playground and a free kids’ club in July and August.
Around the campsite, everything can be done without an engine. The customs officers’ path (GR 34) starts a few minutes’ walk away and follows the jumble of pink granite to Ploumanac’h. Former railway lines turned into greenways offer flat cycling routes, and the Sept-Îles archipelago, France’s largest bird reserve, can be explored by boat from Perros-Guirec harbour.
Open from April to early October, then during the French autumn school holidays (Toussaint).
