France's first 5-star campsite: that title belongs to Domaine de Massereau, in Sommières, in the Gard. The site offers 199 pitches (or 82 rentals in chalets, mobile homes and tents), on plots of 90 to 300 m² fitted with electricity, a water point, wifi and a private shower cabin. The domed heated pool, its slides, the paddling pool, balneotherapy and solarium make up a generous water area, complemented by sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, tennis and a multi-sports ground. A restaurant, bakery, snack bar and shop shape everyday life, with a kids' club, canoeing, an adventure park and vineyard tours on the activity programme.
