An LPO wildlife refuge involved in reintroducing the bearded vulture, on the banks of the Jonte river facing the Causse Méjean: La Cascade campsite sits in the heart of the UNESCO-listed Cévennes National Park, in Meyrueis, Lozère. This 54-pitch campsite across more than 2 hectares, 35 of them spacious and shaded, deliberately limits WiFi to common areas to offer a genuine “nature break”. Thirteen accommodations make up the offer: wooden chalets, a tipi chalet, two ecolodges, a pod, a hobbit cabin and a canvas tent. River swimming takes place at the foot of a waterfall, while a football pitch, a handball area and a playground new in 2026 round out the facilities. Green Key, Camping Qualité, Qualité Tourisme and Qualidog labelled, awarded best eco-friendly campsite 2023-2024, the campsite welcomes vans, caravans, bikes and dogs. Open from 11 April to 26 September.
