The original village of Les Salles-sur-Verdon was submerged between 1972 and 1974 when Lake Sainte-Croix was created; camping la Source now sits 100 metres from the rebuilt village, right on the shore of this lake, in the heart of the Verdon regional nature park. This four-star site with 89 pitches of 80 to 140 m² on 1.9 hectares offers no mobile homes, focusing on traditional camping at 500 metres altitude, near Europe's largest canyon. Drinking water fountains, comfort electrical hook-ups (10A), table tennis, a boules court, a communal barbecue and WiFi round out the offer, with direct beach access for canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing and fishing. Awarded the Camping Qualité and Marque Valeur Parc labels, open from 7 May to 4 October, in the Var.
